Traffic cuts for the Spanish cycling championship

On the 24th, 25th and 26th of June various cycling events will take place during the Spanish Cycling Championships, mainly affecting the municipalities of Sant Llorenç des Cardassar, Son Servera and, to a lesser extent, Capdepera, as follows:

Individual time trial on the 24th

As a result of this event, several roads will be closed to traffic according to the following map:

Section marked in ORANGE: closed to traffic from 08:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m

Section marked in BLUE: closed to traffic from 11:45 a.m to 2:30 p.m.

Due to the road structure of the coastal area of Sant Llorenç, all traffic, in both directions, converges at the roundabout at Avinguda Bon Temps and Avinguda Llevant. With the cut in the Portocristo – Son Servera road (MA 4023), it is impossible for this point to take on the volume of traffic that it usually distributes together with the volume that it should take on due to the closure of the road.

Therefore, if your itinerary involves having to pass this point (Avenida Llevant) during the race timetable, please adapt the timetable of your journey or use alternative routes for journeys that involve going around this roundabout between 08.30 am and 2 pm.

Alternative routes to traffic closures

The access roads to Cala Millor will have to be closed during the races, for this reason, we want to provide you with alternative routes these days and give you some advice so that these cuts affect you as little as possible in your travels.

Friday June 24, 2022

This day the road that connects with the coastal area will be closed from 08:00 to 14:30. In this case, if you have to move during these hours you can do so:

From Sant Llorenç: Starting from the gas station roundabout, take Calle Son Nadal/Son Joi to the Son Carrió-Manacor road. You take towards Son Carrió and once there, the street of Son Manxo to Porto Cristo. From Porto Cristo you can reach the coastal area without any problem. This route is only suitable for cars, in the case of trucks you can also reach Manacor and from there go to the coastal area.

Map of the route with your navigator.

From Son Carrió: in Son Carrió the area above Calle de Padre Alcover, both towards the Station and towards the Torrent, will be closed (shaded area on the map). For this reason, we recommend the residents of these streets to leave the car the day before on the other side of Calle Padre Alcover (towards Can Apol·lònia) so that they can easily leave the town.

Saturday, June 25, 2022

The start of the women’s event will also be in Sant Llorenç. Therefore, this day the Embroiderers walk will be closed from 06:30 a.m. to 09:45 a.m. People who have to travel by car during these hours and live at the even numbers of the promenade, will have access to Carrer del Mar and Son Carrió, if there is no accès on this street, at the even numbers of the promenade, we We ask that you leave the car inside the town.

On Sunday 26 there will only be temporary and brief cuts while the return passes.

However, we ask you to be proactive, organize your outings and leave with enough time to avoid inconveniences. If during the course of the test you have any incident or need specific information, you can call 669 755 573.

To make things easier for you, we offer you alternative routes to get to Son Servera from different areas of the island:
If you plan to reach the coastal area during these hours, you can do so via the Cornella Fondo road. From there you can reach the seafront where all traffic will be open and reach Cala Millor, sa Coma…
To leave towards Artà or Palma you can do it, either by the first line, towards Porto Cristo or by the Rentadors road. The street will be open, but there may be more holdups due to testing.
To get to the Costa des Pins you can do so by taking the Vella de Son Sard road towards Port Vell.
📍On the map you can see OPEN roads in green.
