Port Roig Beach is a pleasant, tranquil cove with fine-grain sand, mature tamarind trees and easy access to the water. Also known to the locals as Estanc d’en Xinet, the name Port Roig harks back to earlier times when there was a loading dock here –you can still see four pillars from it emerging from the water– and the red (roig in Catalan) of the rocks on the surrounding slopes.
The beach is easy to reach by road if you follow the signs and there is free parking for private vehicles near the Hotel Sun Wing Resort.
